User experience (UX) is more than designing intuitive apps, websites, and interfaces—it’s about crafting systems that improve how people interact with everything around them. From healthcare to fintech, outdoor experiences to digital platforms, my goal has always been to refine and enhance how people engage with products, services, and physical spaces.
UX Beyond the Screen
Many still consider UX purely digital, but actual UX extends beyond screens. Whether it’s a hospital check-in process that reduces patient anxiety, a car interface that seamlessly integrates with the driver’s instincts or a retail space designed for effortless navigation, UX is about optimizing interactions in every dimension of life.
Take healthcare, for instance. The check-in process at most medical facilities is a prime example of broken UX. Patients often arrive stressed, with unclear instructions, redundant paperwork, and long wait times. A well-designed system—one that incorporates mobile pre-check-ins, intuitive wayfinding, and empathetic service design—could dramatically ease this experience. My work in healthcare UX focuses on precisely these pain points: eliminating friction, reducing cognitive load, and making access to care feel human-centered.
An Obsession with Making Things Better
At the core of my approach to UX is an unrelenting drive to improve experiences. I am constantly analyzing, iterating, and questioning how things can improve. Every interaction, whether digital or physical, has the potential to be more seamless, more intuitive, and more human-centered. This obsession with refinement isn’t just about design—it’s about impact. When people move through systems that work effortlessly, they feel empowered rather than frustrated.
Empowering Users Through Design
Another passion of mine is giving users more control. Whether it’s healthcare data through blockchain-backed personal records, fintech solutions that demystify complex financial processes, or real estate platforms that anticipate a buyer’s unique preferences, the future of UX lies in empowerment.
For example, I imagine a world where home-buying is tailored to the individual. Imagine driving by a house and instantly receiving information not just about its price but whether it aligns with your unique personal preferences (UPP): natural light, quiet streets, proximity to hiking trails, and even community vibe. Instead of sifting through endless listings, technology and UX should work together to bring you the right options.
The Role of AI and Personalization
AI is revolutionizing how UX can be more predictive and adaptive whether AI-driven personal coaching apps, real-time content adjustments based on user behavior, or assistive AI in enterprise software, the next wave of UX should feel like an extension of the user, not a barrier.
In my work, I see AI and UX converging to create genuinely adaptive experiences that adjust not only to user preferences but also to emotional states. AI should enhance, not overwhelm, allowing users to feel controlled rather than dictated by algorithms.
UX as a Business Strategy
Companies that fail to prioritize UX are leaving money on the table. A frictionless experience drives loyalty, reduces churn, and improves conversion rates. I’ve worked with billion-dollar companies, increasing revenue through UX strategies that weren’t just about aesthetics but the core user journey. Good UX is good business.
Take my work at Zelis.com—enhancing the enterprise design system, streamlining marketing and product efforts, and ensuring that user experience drives engagement and decision-making. When UX is integrated at the highest level, it becomes a competitive advantage, not just a design consideration.
What’s Next: UXing the World
My mission isn’t just to improve UX in one industry—it’s to elevate UX thinking everywhere. Whether speaking, leading a UX team in a groundbreaking company, or launching a new venture that redefines how people interact with technology and services, I want to push UX beyond conventional boundaries.
The world needs better experiences—ones that are seamless, intuitive, and human-centered. I’m here to build them.
