- Control: Can users intervene, redirect, correct, or undo? In agentic contexts especially, the ability to inspect and override AI decisions is not a safety feature — it is the core UX. Research shows that when users believe they can understand a system and correct it, they adopt it more deeply.
- Consistency: Perhaps the most underrated trust driver. AI systems that behave unpredictably — giving different answers to the same question, changing tone, forgetting context — erode trust even when individual outputs are high quality. Designing for behavioral consistency, across sessions, modalities, and edge cases, is a hard UX problem that separates mature platforms from immature ones.
